Representatives of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center participated in the international volunteer rescuers exercise “RESCUE 2026”, organized for member organizations of EVOLSAR in the city of Soverato, Italy. The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the EDELWEISS organization and was held at its training facility.

Volunteers from nine countries took part in the exercise, spending two days training under various emergency response scenarios. During the first phase, participants conducted search and rescue operations involving victims trapped under earthquake debris and within collapsed engineering structures. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), K-9 search teams, and visual reconnaissance were employed to locate victims.

The rescuers then practiced response procedures at the scene of a simulated aircraft crash, including victim evacuation using rope rescue equipment and the first aid provision.

The second day focused on the use of unmanned aerial systems. Participants carried out tasks involving the search for a simulated missing person, monitoring of facilities, and aerial video surveying of the area. The exercise also provided an opportunity to exchange experience in the application of various UAV platforms during search and rescue operations.
