Laying a wreath at the monument to fallen heroes Mountain Matievac, August 28, 2019.
The staff of the Russian Serbian Humanitarian Centre, together with their Serbian friends, participate in the social and political life of the country, marking its memorable and significant dates.
In Gornem Mateevatsu, in a small Serbian village, almost a suburb of Nish, there is a memorial complex, with the names of fallen heroes – guerrillas who gave their lives for the liberation of their homeland from the fascist occupiers. Fallen heroes – residents of these places.
At the invitation of the local administration, representatives of the RSGC visited Mateevac, honored the memory of the victims of the war and laid a wreath at the monument, as well as participated in a solemn rally dedicated to this event.
Speakers also noted the heroes, local residents, shot here by the occupiers on April 16, 1917, back in the First World War.
The monument is located in the center of the village, in front of the local school building. I would like to note the concern of the residents of Gorni Mateevats and his administration about this memorial, and the memory of the inhabitants of these regions about their heroes.
