From May 11 to 15, the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center conducted the “Firefighting Tactics” training course for 4 members of the industrial firefighting unit of ELIXIR PRAHOVO and 5 representatives of the professional fire and rescue unit from Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska BiH.

During the training, participants improved their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in firefighting operations at industrial facilities, rescue operations in collapse scenarios, and the use of personal protective equipment.

A special segment of the course focused on fire behavior theory, pyrolysis, fire development, dangerous phenomena such as flashover and backdraft, and hazard recognition through “reading smoke.” Participants also completed practical training in the proper use of personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus.

The course concluded with a complex practical exercise that included an explosion scenario at an industrial facility, firefighting operations, and victim extrication from under debris for the ELIXIR PRAHOVO personnel, as well as a multi-story building fire scenario for the Banja Luka fire and rescue unit, including the evacuation of multiple persons from fire-affected premises.
