The first training course titled “Response to Chemical Incidents Involving Various Liquids” was conducted at the RSHC for 9 members of the professional firefighting unit of Elixir Group.
During the introductory session, participants were familiarized with the classification and characteristics of hazardous substances, the regulations governing their transportation and labeling. Particular emphasis was placed on hazard identification, safety measures, and the proper use of protective and specialized equipment.
During the practical part of the training, participants practiced response procedures, including reconnaissance, identification of the substance, assessment of risks to people and property, proper donning of protective suits, detection and zoning, leak control, also proper decontamination procedures and removal of contaminated protective suits.
On the final day, simulation exercises were conducted to practice response to chemical incidents involving various liquids.
