Volunteer firefighters from Khanty-Mansiysk in Serbia

From November 9 to 14, volunteer firefighters from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra (Russia), members of the Volunteer Humanitarian Corps, completed training in Serbia.

With the assistance of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center, the Volunteer Firefight Departments “Stevan Sindjelic” and “Nais” from Nis, Russian volunteer firefighters underwent practical training in the use of mountaineering equipment in the Elasnica gorge. In addition to theoretical classes on first aid, extinguishing forest fires, and using drones to reconnaissance emergency areas and forest fires, the guests practiced their skills at the Center’s training complexes.

On November 12, near Mramorak, in the area of ​​”Deliblato Sands,” both a theoretical lesson and a demonstration training “Firefighting in open areas” were held together with members of the Volunteer Firefight Departments “Mramorak,” “Matica Zemun,” “Stapar,” and “Stevan Sindjelic,” as well as firefighters-rescuers of the Emergency Management Sector of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia and RSHC employees.

On November 13, at the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center, a representative of the Voluntary Humanitarian Corps, a psychologist specializing in work in crises, Svetlana Basova, gave a lecture on the topic: “Providing first psychological aid” for representatives of EMS, Volunteer Firefight Departments, and RSHC. As part of the summing up, in the presence of the President of the Firefighting Association of Serbia Dragan Capin, and the First Deputy Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Alexey Zabozlaev, all participants were awarded certificates of successful completion of the training.

All guests were introduced to RSHC activities and capabilities. Memorandums of Cooperation were signed between the Firefighting Association of Serbia and RSHC, as well as the Volunteer Humanitarian Corps and the Firefighting Association of Serbia.
