Instructors of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center delivered the “Basics of Smoke Diver Operations” course for firefighters-rescuers of the Civil Protection Administration of Republika Srpska (BiH).

Over the course of the training, eight participants strengthened their skills in safe use of breathing apparatus, practiced operating in confined spaces, and trained survival and self-rescue techniques in fire conditions.

A strong emphasis was placed on hands-on practice: door breaching, various hose line deployment techniques, firefighting tactics, and hydraulic ventilation of smoke-filled premises.

The course concluded with realistic scenarios inside a smoke-filled multi-storey building, where participants conducted search and rescue operations. This final stage served as a practical exam — successfully passed by the firefighters, who demonstrated professionalism, determination, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

The training took place from February 23 to 27.
