Response to Chemical Incidents Involving Various Fluids – Practical Training

The second training course on “Response to Chemical Incidents Involving Various Fluids” was held at the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center for members of the professional industrial firefighting units of Elixir Prahovo and NIS.

During the introductory part of the course, participants were familiarized with the classification and characteristics of hazardous substances, as well as the regulations governing their transportation and labeling. Special emphasis was placed on hazard recognition, safety measures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment and specialized response equipment.

During the practical sessions, participants practiced response procedures including reconnaissance, identification of hazardous substances, assessment of risks to people and property, proper donning of protective suits, detection and zoning, leak control, decontamination of response personnel, and safe doffing of contaminated protective suits.

On the final day, simulation exercises were conducted to practice response to chemical incidents involving various fluids.

Training period: May 25–29.
