Rescue Day in Russia

On December 27, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, according to tradition, celebrates a professional holiday – the Day of the Rescue of the Russian Federation. Every year in Moscow, heads of specialized state structures, firefighters and rescuers of the whole country, colleagues from other ministries and organizations, foreign states and international organizations meet in Moscow to sum up the year and participate in the festivities.

This year's celebration of the "Rescue Day" took place on December 18 at the State Kremlin Palace, where representatives of the Serbian Interior Ministry – Katarina Tomasevic, the head of the cabinet and deputy minister of the Interior Ministry of Serbia and Ivan Baras, deputy head of the Emergency Sector for International Cooperation – took part. In addition to the representatives of the Serbian Interior Ministry, the delegation included the heads of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center: V.P. Gulevich, the Director of the Center, O.B. Ganiev, Deputy Director, B. Glamochlia, Co-Director of the Center and Anna Popovich, Coordinator for International Cooperation.

It is a great honor for us to be present at this great event, which is held in honor of firefighters and rescuers who take care of our safety every day in emergencies.

During the visit, a delegation led by Katarina Tomasevic, Deputy Minister of the Interior of Serbia, visited the Academy of State Fire Service (AGPS) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Academy staff introduced the delegation to the educational and matelical base, scientific achievements and innovations, presented the psychological support department, laboratories, training center for crisis management, exhibition halls and the Academy museum.

Taking the opportunity, the delegation also visited the participants of a group of heads of the departments of the Emergency Branch of the Serbian Interior Ministry, who arrived at the Academy for refresher courses on the topic: "The application of fire protection measures in the design and construction of buildings and infrastructure."
